CHAIRMAN PROFILE

Engr. Peter Enitan Ogunbowale

Engr. Peter Enitan Ogunbowale is an Electrical and Electronics Engineer, digital infrastructure professional, and strategic leader passionate about creating opportunities for engineers to grow, connect, and thrive. His professional journey combines technical expertise, operational excellence, research, and purposeful leadership, with a strong commitment to advancing engineering practice and professional development in Nigeria.

He currently serves as an IBX Customer Operations Engineer at Equinix, where he contributes to the reliability and operational performance of critical data centre infrastructure. His experience spans data centre operations, telecommunications, power systems, and electrical engineering, having previously worked with MainOne and Globacom. He also brings practical experience in electrical installation and maintenance, alongside a strong interest in continuous learning, innovation, and the application of technology to solve real-world problems.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, where he graduated with Second Class Upper honours and a distinction, respectively, and as the Best Postgraduate Student in his department. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Lagos. His professional development is further demonstrated by more than 50 certifications and training credentials, as well as 8 research publications in power systems, optimisation, and organisational performance.

As Chairman of the Resource Portal & Job Desk Committee of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ikeja Branch, Peter is committed to making the Branch a more effective platform for career advancement, professional development, mentorship, and industry engagement. He has played a leading role in revitalising the Engineering Resource Portal and strengthening initiatives that connect engineers with employment opportunities, professional resources, and pathways for career growth. He is also driving the development of the NSE Ikeja Branch Career Acceleration Programme (NIBCAP), an initiative designed to equip members and emerging professionals with practical skills, industry exposure, and the tools to navigate an evolving engineering landscape.

Beyond RPJD, Peter serves as Assistant General Secretary of NSE Ikeja Branch and has contributed to several professional development, capacity-building, and institutional initiatives. His previous leadership experience includes serving as Vice President of the University of Lagos MBA Students’ Association, where he championed initiatives in academic support, student engagement, and professional development.

His leadership philosophy is grounded in a simple conviction: professional networks should do more than bring people together; they should create pathways to meaningful opportunities and measurable growth. Through RPJD, Peter continues to champion a more connected, resourceful, and opportunity-driven engineering community, one in which engineers are better equipped to develop their capabilities, advance their careers, and contribute meaningfully to society.
